Marion A. Femia, a cherished member of the East Boston community, formerly of Brookline, passed away on April 9, 2024. Born on August 4, 1923, in Boston, Marion was the beloved daughter of Joseph and Victoria (Cocenza) Femia.
Marion's life was defined by her unwavering love and devotion to her family. She was the loving mother of John Nicolopoulos and his wife MaryEllen Zani-Nicolopoulos of Melrose. Marion was also a dear sister to the late Mary "Dolly" Hitchcock, Joseph Femia, Nicholas Femia, and Charles "Chickie" Femia. Her legacy lives on through the many nieces and nephews she leaves behind, each of whom was touched by her kindness and generosity.
Family and friends will honor Marion's life by gathering at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga Street, East Boston, on Tuesday, April 16th from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. and again on Wednesday morning at 8:30 before leaving in procession to St. Joseph - St. Lazarus Parish, East Boston, for a funeral Mass celebrating her life at 10:00 A.M. Services will conclude with Marion being laid to rest at Winthrop Cemetery, Cross Street, Winthrop.
Marion was a life-long parishioner of St. Lazarus Parish in East Boston and was a long-time employee of the Logan Airport Hilton, where she developed friendships with colleagues and guests alike.
Marion's memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a warm, fun-loving, compassionate person, with an unrivaled zest for life.
May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love of her family and the comforting embrace of her faith.
