Joan S. Lee, a cherished resident of East Boston, passed away on April 10, 2024, at the age of 87. Born in Boston on June 23, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Rossetti and Nancy (Mayo).
Joan was a devoted mother to her children: Carl Lee and his former wife Susan Gamble, Sandra Santostefano and her husband Joseph, and Stacey Lee. She was the loving sister of Teresa Lynch, Dolores Wright, and was preceded in death by her sisters Marie Morano and Barbara Maggio. Joan was also a beloved grandmother to Christopher Lee, Alyssa Lee, Ashley Collins, Alexandra Santostefano, Jonathan Tosto, and Ryan Tosto.
Predeceased by her husband, Carl Lee Jr., Joan leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth. She will be deeply missed by her many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Family and friends are invited to honor Joan's life by gathering on Friday, April 12th, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, located at 971 Saratoga St, East Boston. Additional visitation will be held on Saturday, starting at 8:30 AM, before leaving in a funeral procession to St. Joseph St. Lazarus Church on Ashley St, East Boston, for a 10:00 AM funeral mass. Following the service, Joan will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband, Carl, at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Joan had a passion for life and enjoyed shopping and casino trips with her friends. She found joy in dancing and cherished spending every weekend with her sister, Dolores.
