Obituary
Jennie Garufo (Staffier) of East Boston, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 16, 2023 at 97 years of age.
Jennie will be remembered for her love and commitment to family. She was the matriarch of the family. Living in East Boston throughout her life, Jennie will always be remembered for opening her home to all. She left everyone with a full heart and full belly. Everyone will miss her dearly.
Jennie was a loving wife of the late Carmello Garufo. She was the daughter of Louisa and Emilio Staffier. She was the beloved sister to eight siblings.
She was a loving mother to children Linda Camerano and husband Peter of West Roxbury, Carl Garufo and partner Tony Brownstein of Hyannis, Janet Ikonomopoulos and her late husband Kostas of Peabody, James Garufo and wife Elizabeth of Winthrop, Stephen Garufo and wife Karen of Palm Harbor, and Denise MacMillan and husband Jay of Revere. She is also survived by her grandchildren Kristen Jasset, Adrienne Camerano, Joseph Camiolo, Angela Koziski, Amanda Ikonos, Cal and Regina Garufo, James MacMillan, Stephen Peter, Anna, and Gabriel Garufo. She is also survived by many great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday , May 23rd, at St Joseph and St Lazarus at 59 Ashley St, East Boston, MA 02128 at 10 a.m. All are welcome to attend.
