Dorothy (Kelly) Merullo

Merullo, Dorothy of East Boston passed away on January 19, 2022.

Loving daughter of the late John L. and Margaret A. (Thornton) Kelly.

Beloved wife of the late Carmine J. Merullo for 70 years.

Devoted mother of John K. and significant other Deborah Roberto of East Boston, Robert M. of East Boston, Leo A. and Michele of Peabody, Peter V. and Suzanne of Winchester, and Michael J. and Susanne of Lynnfield. 

Cherished grandmother of Christopher Merullo, Sharna Sullivan, Shanee Masciulli, Katelyn Noble, Alyssa Bicchieri, Shaylyn Merullo, Jaclyn Merullo, Arianna Merullo, Meaghan Merullo, Christina Merullo, Erica Merullo, and Lauren Merullo.

Cherished great-grandmother of 5 great-grandchildren.

Dear sister of the late John, Edward and Ruth A.

Most beloved aunt among countless nieces and nephews. 

Family and friends will honor Dorothy's life by gathering at St. John the Evangelist Church, 320 Winthrop Street, Winthrop, MA 02152, on Sunday, January 23rd from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and again on Monday morning at 10 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church (Please go directly to the church). Services will conclude with Mrs.Merullo being laid to rest with her beloved husband Carmine at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. 

Dorothy was the devoted wife of Carmine. Together, they raised 5 sons and were lifelong residents of E. Boston. Dorothy was a proud mother, grandmother, and member of the community. She was a staple at E. Boston High School Jets games and a familiar face in the halls of E. Boston High School and as a food service worker.  Dorothy was happiest spending time in Gloucester, surrounded by her family and holding a glass of Crown Royal.
