Carol Santarpio Obituary

Carol Ann Santarpio (82), a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Throughout her life, Carol exuded warmth and kindness, touching the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her radiant smile and gentle demeanor brought comfort and joy to everyone she encountered. She possessed an innate ability to uplift spirits and spread happiness wherever she went.

Carol’s greatest joy in life was her family. She shared 63 beautiful years of marriage with her loving husband, Frank Joseph Santarpio, whose unwavering love and support were the foundation of their enduring bond. Together, they created a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever be treasured by their family.

In addition to being a devoted wife, Carol was a nurturing mother to her children and a doting grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her loving husband, Frank Santarpio, their children and their spouses Joseph Santarpio and his wife Josephine Santarpio, Frank Santarpio and his wife Janice Santarpio, Carla Santarpio and her husband David Modica, and Joia Santarpio and her husband Joseph Spataro, as well as her grandchildren: Joseph Santarpio and his wife Arielle Santarpio, David Modica, Janelle Santarpio, Savanna Santarpio, Nikki Modica and her husband Ross Desmarais, Samantha Santarpio and Tia DiSalvo and great-grandchildren: Haidyn, Francis, Luca and Frankie, who will forever cherish the love and guidance she bestowed upon them. Carol is predeceased by her parents Alfred and Anita D'Angelico and her brother Alfred "Butchie" D’Angelico.

Carol was also known for her adventurous spirit and zest for life. During winters, she found solace and joy in Lauderdale by the Sea, where she embraced the sunshine and sea breeze. A familiar sight at Encore Casino, she would spend many delightful days indulging in her passion for slot machines, always with an iced coffee in hand or a refreshing cold beer. Carol found great joy in spending time with her best friend and son-in-law, David. The dynamic duo shared a special bond and enjoyed countless memorable moments together. Whether they were playing a competitive game of cards, savoring happy hour at one of their local spots, singing along to their favorite songs in the car, or celebrating Valentine's Day, which became one of their cherished annual traditions, their companionship was a source of immense joy and laughter.

At Carol’s request there will not be any services held. If you feel called to donate in honor of Carol, contributions may be made to Mass General Hospital Cancer Center.
