Blanca Castro Obituary

Blanca L. Castro, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in El Salitrero, Ahuachapán,  El Salvador, to the late Jose Luis Castro and Elvira Velasquez de Castro, and she was the eldest among her eight siblings.

Blanca was the first of her family to migrate to the United States at the early age of 26, where she embarked on her life long journey filled with love, compassion, and dedication. A talented seamstress by trade, Blanca poured her heart into her work and extended her skills to assist anyone in need. Her hands crafted not only garments but also moments of warmth and comfort for those around her.

Blanca's true legacy lies in her role as a devoted mother to her children, Lissett Estevez and her husband Eric, Sally Scribner and her husband Jay, and the late Alejandro E. Guirola. Blanca was the dear sister of Juan Castro, Esperanza Castro, Vilma Castro, Gladys Castro, Carlos Castro, David Castro, Elvirita Arevalo and the late Freddy Castro. She cherished her family above all else, finding joy in every moment spent with them. Blanca's love knew no bounds, and she leaves behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and unwavering support.

Blanca's love extended to her grandchildren, Jaylen and Leyla Scribner, whom she adored and cherished. She found immense happiness in watching them grow and thrive, showering them with affection and wisdom.

Beyond her immediate family, Blanca leaves behind an extended family of nieces and nephews who were touched by her love and generosity. She was a pillar of strength and a source of inspiration to all who knew her.

Blanca's passions were as vibrant as her spirit. She found solace in nature, nurturing her love for animals, birds, and the beauty of the outdoors. Her green thumb brought life to her garden, where she tended to her beloved plants, especially her cherished roses.

Blanca's life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and family. She dedicated herself to family, friends and the people in her community. Her memory will forever be cherished by those whose lives she touched, and her legacy will continue to inspire generations to come. In her passing, we find solace in the knowledge that she is reunited with her loved ones who went before her, finding eternal peace in their embrace. Blanca's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were privileged to know her.

Family and friends will honor Blanca's life by gathering at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, East Boston, on Sunday, April 28th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and again on Monday morning at 9:30 AM where a prayer service will take place. Services will conclude with Blanca being laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery with her beloved son Alejandro. May they rest in peace.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
