Silvia, Anna Mae (West), of East Boston, formerly of Quincy, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at 95 years of age.
Beloved wife of the late Manuel "Sonny" Silvia.
Devoted mother of Michelle Fanning and husband John of East Boston and Sharon Silvia of Randolph.
Loving daughter of the late Harold West and Ann Ford.
Dear sister of Matthew "Rusty" Kennedy and wife Ann, and the late Jane Ricupero of Winthrop.
Adored grandmother of Katelynn Cali and husband Brandon, Meghan Paolera and husband Thomas, Casey Fanning and fiancé Christopher Dellazoppa.
Beloved great-grandmother of Lucas Cali and Thomas Paolera.
Also survived by her loving nieces and nephews.
From a young age Anna made sure to dress to the nines for every occasion, large or small. She enjoyed Fridays at the hair dressers accompanied by her loving husband Sonny and later with Michelle. Anna liked spending time gardening, sunbathing, and just spending time in her backyard. As she got older she adored watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren, especially from her back porch, where she kept a watchful eye over everyone.
Anna loved to travel with her family for summer vacations often near a pool or beach. Anyone that met Anna always got a sweet loving smile. This was a comment her family heard often from the nurses who took care of her throughout her final days. Everyone loved Anna. If her great-granddog Hunter was missing he was often found sharing treats with her basking in the sun in her front room.
This is where she kept a watchful eye over the neighborhood. If you needed any neighborhood gossip Anna was the one to go to. She was the Thurston Street neighborhood watch and knew all the ongoings.
Family and friends will honor Anna's life by gathering at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga Street, (Orient Heights) East Boston, on Thursday, March 28th from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. A prayer service will be held in the Serenity Chapel of the funeral home at Noon. Services will conclude with Anna being laid to rest with her beloved husband at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Peabody. May they rest in peace.
Anna was a troop leader of the Brownies and Girl Scouts of Saint Lazarus Church and throughout the community.
